City prepares for int'l seminar

JAKARTA: The Jakarta administration will hold a two-day
international seminar on port management in March as part of its
effort to improve the competitiveness of Tanjung Priok Port.

Deputy Governor Fauzi Bowo said the administration would
invite international port managements to attend the seminar from
March 23 to March 24.

"We want the management of Tanjung Priok Port to learn from
the seminar to improve its services," Fauzi said on Tuesday.

The administration also is cooperating with the management of
Rotterdam port in the Netherlands to conduct a study about the
level of services provided by the Priok port, Fauzi said.

The study is expected to be completed this month and the
results will be presented at the upcoming seminar. --JP
