City Police HQ to see personnel reshuffle soon

JAKARTA (JP): A number of city police officers will be replaced soon, head of General Crimes Directorate Lt. Col. Gories Mere said on Saturday.

Gories told The Jakarta Post that according to Decree No. 1394/VI/1995 issued by the National Police Commander on Sept. 19, among those to be replaced are the head of the Jakarta City Police and himself.

Gories said that he will be promoted to chief of the East Jakarta police district. Gories' position will be taken over by Major Bambang Widaryatmo, a unit chief at the Police College.

The chief of the Bekasi police district, Lt. Col. Harry Pribadi, will become the chief of the West Jakarta police district. His position will be filled by Lt. Col. Elfrizo Tobing, unit chief in the General Crimes Directorate of the National Police.

City Police spokesman Lt. Col. Bambang Permantoro will replace Tobing in his position at National Police headquarters. The post of City Police spokesman will be filled by Lt. Col Iman Haryatna, the current head of Central Java's General Crimes Directorate.

The chief of East Jakarta police district, Lt. Col. Miyanto, will be moved to South Kalimantan where he will head the Human Resources Department of the provincial police.

The chief of the West Jakarta police district, Lt. Col. I Made Mangku Pastika, will be promoted to vice-assistant to the City Police chief Maj. Gen. Dibyo Widodo, in charge of planning.

Meanwhile, the position of chief at the Pademangan police precinct will be occupied by Capt. Bambang Wiji, who will replace the late Major Noenang Kohar, who was stabbed to death two months ago.

The chief of the Gambir police precinct Maj. Tjetjep Agus will become the chief of the Taman Sari police precinct.

Promoted to become the Gambir police precinct chief is Maj. I Nyoman Suryasta, currently the Setia Budi police precinct chief. Nyoman will be replaced in that position by Maj. Bambang Hermanu, chief of the Tebet police precinct.

The Tebet police precinct will be headed by Capt. Sudjarno, the current chief of the intelligence and criminology unit of the Jakarta City Police. (01)
