City Hall to open writing contest
A writing competition will be held in commemoration of the 467th anniversary of Jakarta and Indonesia's 49th Independence Day, in order to gain public input on development in the city.
The competition takes the theme of Public Involvement in Managing the Problem of Least Developed Villages in Jakarta. The contest is only open to those who have had their work previously published in a Jakarta based, Indonesian language publication.
"We hope the papers sent in will provide input to the city government in their daily activity of determining municipal policies," Kenna Tarigan, from the publication section of anniversary's committee, said here on Tuesday.
The competition will be open from June 15 to July 15 with a first place prize of one million rupiah (US$463.6), a second place prize of Rp 750,000 and third place of Rp 500,000.(mds)
