City gardens

City gardens

From Merdeka

The results of the Jakarta Administration's program to provide
the capital with more gardens are becoming more and more visible.
In many areas of the city we can now see trees and other
vegetation.

In Cililitan, East Jakarta, opposite the bus terminal for
example, many trees dominate the area, reducing the heat and the
impact of the sun's glaring rays.

As a Jakarta citizen I feel much indebted to the
administration for its concern with regard to the city's
amenities. Jakarta's pollution level is said to be close to the
tolerable limit.

If there were no trees and gardens in the city, the pollution
might further harm citizens' health. A further increase in the
number of city gardens and trees will make Jakarta even more
human.
