JAKARTA – The Head of Jakarta’s Civil Police Unit (Satpol PP), Satriadi Gunawan, has confirmed that his department is conducting regular patrols to prevent indecent activities at Cawang City Forest in East Jakarta.

In addition to night-time patrols, the Civil Police will install advisory banners to discourage visitors from engaging in indecent behaviour within the city forest and park areas.

Satriadi reported that patrols conducted from Saturday evening through early Sunday morning detected no disturbances in the Cawang City Forest area. “We also conducted patrols in the Daan Mogot area,” he noted.

Earlier, Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung had instructed the Civil Police to take action regarding suspected indecent activities at Cawang City Forest. He also ordered the installation of surveillance cameras (CCTV) across all city parks.

Pramono responded to the viral reports by demanding immediate enforcement action. “If the information is indeed correct, I will follow up immediately. I will request the Civil Police to address the matter,” Pramono stated after attending an iftar gathering at Pondok Pesantren Al Hamid Putra in Cilangkap, Cipayung, East Jakarta on Saturday (28 February 2026).

He stressed that surveillance measures would apply to all parks throughout Jakarta, emphasising that public spaces in the city must not be misused for indecent activities.
