City councilors in punch up

MEDAN, North Sumatra: Two city councilors were involved in a punch up Monday following a row over a car accident.

Bernard Situmorang, chairman of the PDI faction in the Medan City Council, said he had reported the incident with Moses Tambonan of the Golkar faction to Council Speaker Syamsi Harahap, who promised to resolve the conflict in a "familial" way.

Bernard said there had been a row over who should pay damages following a car accident involving his wife and one of Moses' in- laws.

The row ensued with a punch up between the two councilors. (21)
