City Council has new member

JAKARTA (JP): The Speaker of the City Council, M.H. Ritonga,
inducted Zulkarnaen Ginting as the new councilor of the city
council in a plenary session on Thursday.

Zulkarnaen is replacing councilor Siregar Prahu of United
Development Party who died on May 2 last year.

In his speech, Speaker Ritonga urged other councilors to
remember the content of the oath since the councilors are
expected to be responsible not only to other people but also to
God.

He said that with the inauguration of Zulkarnaen, the City
Council now has 75 members.

The plenary session was attended by a number of members of the
House of Representatives, chairpersons of political organizations
and many city dignitaries. (mas)
