Jakarta (ANTARA) - The use of electric vehicles as taxi fleets is being expanded by PT Express Transindo Utama Tbk by introducing Citroen E-C3 All Electric units as part of its operations.

This step was marked by the handover of the second phase of these electric vehicle units by PT Indomobil National Distributor, the official Citroen distributor in Indonesia, which took place on Thursday (23/4) in Jakarta. This handover is a continuation of the strategic cooperation between the two companies, which was previously initiated at the Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week (GJAW) 2025.

“The handover of the second phase is part of Citroen’s commitment to supporting electric-based mobility needs in Indonesia. We see great potential for electric vehicles in supporting business operations, and the Citroen E-C3 offers a solution that prioritises efficiency, comfort, and reliability,” said Head of Sales and Marketing Division of Citroen Indonesia, Ferdinan Hendra, in a press release on Friday.

The introduction of the Citroen E-C3 All Electric as a taxi fleet is aimed at supporting operational needs as well as the business development of Express. In addition, the use of electric vehicles is considered capable of improving operational cost efficiency and contributing to the reduction of carbon emissions from daily transportation activities.

Designed for urban mobility, the Citroen E-C3 All Electric has a range of up to 320 km on a single charge. The vehicle is also equipped with Citroen’s signature features, Flying Carpet Ride, which provides driving comfort and stability for both drivers and passengers, making it suitable for taxi fleet needs.

Meanwhile, President Director of PT Express Transindo Utama Tbk, Johannes B.E. Triatmojo, stated that the addition of these units further strengthens the company’s steps in modernising its fleet.

“The addition of units in this second phase further strengthens our commitment to improving operational efficiency and service quality to customers. The Citroen E-C3 has provided added value in terms of comfort, reliability, and efficiency, which aligns with the company’s long-term strategy,” said Johannes.

In addition to providing vehicle units, Citroen Indonesia also ensures after-sales service support, ranging from official workshop networks in various regions, certified technicians, availability of spare parts, body repair services, to 24-hour emergency services.

This second phase handover is a continuation of the partnership between Citroen Indonesia and PT Express Transindo Utama Tbk.

Looking ahead, both parties plan to continue strengthening their collaboration in delivering more reliable, comfortable, and sustainable electric mobility solutions for Indonesia’s transportation sector.
