Citizens Appreciate Facilities at National Dhikr Event in Monas
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Numerous citizens expressed satisfaction with the facilities and infrastructure provided during the National Dhikr and Prayer event held at the National Monument (Monas), Jakarta, on Saturday.
“It is comfortable here; there are toilets and they are close to the ablution area,” said Aliyah (58) when met at Monas. Aliyah is the Headmistress of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Babakan Peundeuy, located in the Pelabuhan Ratu district of Sukabumi, West Java.
She chose to sit far from the main stage, noting that the large screens displaying the stage activities, accompanied by loudspeakers installed around the perimeter, were sufficient.
Meanwhile, Muhammad Daffa Syabana (14), a student from an Islamic boarding school in Bekasi, West Java, expressed his delight with the gift packs provided by the organising committee. While opening a light blue gift pack, he showed the prayer mat and sarong he had received. “Alhamdulillah, I am happy. I will use them later,” said Daffa.
In addition to receiving prayer equipment, another attendee, Sadam, noted that the committee also provided snacks and drinks, which were distributed on the buses. “We received refreshments on the bus. Yes, they were given on the bus,” said Sadam.
Attendees of the National Dhikr and Prayer event received souvenirs from the Presidential Palace of the Republic of Indonesia, consisting of prayer mats and prayer sets, specifically mukena (prayer robes) for women and sarongs for men.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs estimated that the National Dhikr and Prayer event, held on Saturday, 1 August 2026, at the Monas field in Jakarta, was attended by approximately 100,000 people from various regions across Indonesia. The event was open to the public and took place from 17:00 to 21:30 WIB as part of the festivities welcoming the Independence Month of the Republic of Indonesia.
