Citilink opens flights from Bandung to five major cities

Low-cost carrier Citilink has strengthened its domestic network by operating flights from Husein Sastranegara Airport in Bandung, West Java, to five major Indonesian cities starting Monday (17/8).

Citilink President Director Darsito Hendroseputro said the operation of flights from Husein Airport is part of efforts to support national connectivity while optimising the potential of the aviation market to and from Bandung.

“The operation of flights from Bandung is also Citilink’s effort to support the transformation of Garuda Indonesia Group’s performance through strengthening a flight network that is increasingly relevant to the needs of the public,” he said.

He said the flights opened from Bandung to five major cities include routes from Bandung to Medan, Denpasar and Surabaya, and vice versa. Furthermore, starting 18 August 2026, Citilink will also serve flights from Bandung to Palembang and Balikpapan, and vice versa.

“The return of flight services from Bandung is expected not only to provide ease of mobility, but also to help drive growth in the tourism, business and economic sectors in West Java and various destination regions,” he explained.

He said flight services on the Bandung to Medan, Denpasar, Surabaya, Palembang and Balikpapan routes will be operated using Airbus A320 aircraft with daily flight frequencies.

Through the operation of these five routes, the company hopes to accommodate the travel needs of people from various regions in Indonesia, thereby presenting broader connectivity with easier, more efficient and more comfortable travel access.

“Together with Garuda Indonesia Group, Citilink will continue to support the government’s efforts to improve national air connectivity, expand inter-regional accessibility, and present flight services that prioritise safety, security and punctuality,” he said.
