Citibank opens Medan branch

JAKARTA (JP): Citibank N.A. officially opened its new branch office in Medan, the capital of North Sumatra, on Tuesday, to strengthen its corporate service in the province.

"The opening of Citibank's Medan branch office is a concrete step in demonstrating our commitment to improving our corporate customer service," Citibank's country corporate officer Michael Zink said in a statement.

He hoped the branch would support Medan's potential economic development.

Citibank Medan branch manager Harapman Kasan said that Medan's rapid business development in the export industries for rubber, cocoa, palm oil and shrimp, was one of the reasons the company opened its branch office there.

"We hope Medan entrepreneurs can settle their corporate financial transactions conveniently," he added. (tnt)
