Citibank employees protest
JAKARTA (JP): More than 300 Citibank employees, all members of the local union, staged a protest on Thursday demanding that the management improves their welfare.
The non-violent protesters carried signs reading "slow down".
"We have three demands. First we want bonuses for all staffers. Second we want the management to allow all executives to become union members. The third demand is that the employees must get periodic salary increases," Hidayatul Badjuri, the Citibank workers' union leader, said.
Negotiations on the workers' union demand started on Dec. 11, 1995, but an agreement has yet to be reached, Antara reported on Thursday. (sur)
