Citi Indonesia Records Net Profit of Rp 2.8 Trillion for 2025
JAKARTA - Citibank, N.A., Indonesia (Citi Indonesia) recorded a 10% growth in net profit to Rp 2.8 trillion in 2025, supported by a 7% increase in net interest income and stable operational expenses.
Citi Indonesia’s CEO, Batara Sianturi, stated that this achievement was driven by the company’s strategy focused on its three interconnected core business lines: banking, markets, and services.
“We executed with discipline by prioritising various strategic initiatives that resulted in a 7% increase in net interest income, as well as efficient and stable operational expenses,” Batara said during a press conference on Thursday (30/4/2026).
Citi Indonesia recorded a Return on Equity (ROE) of 14.4% and a Return on Assets (ROA) of 3.8%. The Liquidity Coverage Ratio (LCR) and Net Stable Funding Ratio (NSFR) remained strong at 264% and 168% respectively, above the regulatory minimum requirements.
“This strong performance reflects sustainable growth and our long-term commitment to supporting Indonesia’s economic progress, in line with the priorities of the government and banking regulators,” he explained.
Throughout 2025, the banking business continued to deliver positive performance. This is seen as affirming the company’s commitment to providing banking solutions for a diverse range of multi-sector clients, from local and multinational companies to financial institutions and public sector entities.
In corporate banking activities, Citi Indonesia was involved in several transactions. These included providing a revolving bilateral trade loan facility worth US$30 million to PT Sinar Mas Agro Resources and Technology Tbk, and a revolving bilateral working capital loan worth Rp 1 trillion to PT Tower Bersama Infrastructure Tbk.
Additionally, Citi acted as the exclusive financial advisor to XL Axiata in its strategic merger with Smartfren to form a new entity, PT XLSmart Telecom Sejahtera Tbk.
In the Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS) business, Citi Indonesia recorded 3% growth compared to the previous year. The company also expanded its collection network services through the omnicollection solution to support retail and e-commerce cash flows.
Furthermore, TTS launched new digital integrations, including Host-to-Host and API solutions for several major clients in the technology and financial services sectors.
Through its supply chain financing programme, Citi Indonesia also provided working capital support to local suppliers across Indonesia. Throughout 2025, the number of suppliers registered in this programme grew 16% compared to the previous year.
In supporting the development of Indonesia’s capital markets, the investor services business maintained close collaboration with regulators through various strategic initiatives, such as working groups, focus group discussions (FGDs), and task forces throughout 2025.
Meanwhile, Citi Indonesia’s markets business continued to strengthen its leadership in the foreign exchange (FX) and bond markets. In 2025, Citi Indonesia was named “Best Sellside 2025 for Local Currency Bonds” by Asset Benchmark Research.
