Cisumdawu Toll Managers Implement Contraflow for Four Months
The managers of the Cisumdawu Toll Road have implemented traffic engineering in the form of contraflow for four months. This is due to land movement causing cracks along 80 metres at kilometre 207+300 on the toll road in Sumedang Regency, West Java.
The President Director of PT Citra Karya Jabar Tol (CKJT), Agustinus Sudrajat, stated that the crack, approximately 80 metres long and up to 2 metres deep, was caused by high-intensity rainfall.
” We identified this crack due to high-intensity rainfall and the location in a hilly area,” said Agustinus in Sumedang on Wednesday, 8 April 2026, as reported by Antara.
He explained that they have ensured optimal drainage function, implemented temporary closure, and diverted vehicle traffic.
The traffic diversion applies to vehicles heading from Bandung to Cirebon, directing them to exit via the Paseh Toll Gate.
For long-term handling, he said, structural reinforcement will be carried out using bore piles to a depth of about 30 metres, with the treatment length reaching 100 metres.
Additionally, together with the police, they will implement contraflow on lane B towards Bandung, from KM 206+125 to KM 208+200.
“During the contraflow, there are no vehicle restrictions; all vehicles can still pass,” he stated.
Meanwhile, the Traffic Unit Head of the Cisumdawu Toll Road, Iptu Deny Ruchyat, said the traffic engineering is estimated to last three to four months, depending on the on-site repair process.
“At least the contraflow will be implemented for three to four months during the repair period. However, we will endeavour to complete it faster,” said Deny.
He added that the contraflow implementation is planned to begin on Wednesday after the readiness of facilities and infrastructure is met.
Officers advise road users to remain cautious and reduce speed when passing through the affected section during the repair period.
