Cisadane festival in Tangerang

TANGERANG: The Tangerang municipal administration will hold a promotion week along with the annual Cisadane River Festival from Aug. 15 and Aug. 21.

Festival committee chairman Rudi A. Dinuri said the event was aimed at promoting industrial potential and local culture as well as boosting tourism and entertaining residents of Tangerang.

He said on Tuesday that the promotion week would center at Mall D'Best on Jl. MH. Thamrin while the water attractions would center on the riverbanks of the Cisadane River near Jl. Benteng Jaya.

The opening ceremony at Mall D'Best would be followed by an exhibition featuring food and beverages, handicrafts and cultural events, including traditional and modern dance performances.

A traditional canoe race and various games for children and adults were also scheduled, he said.

"We call for all restaurants, hotels, recreational sites and public amusement operators in Tangerang to offer discounts during the week."--JP
