Cirebon woman struck by train in Indramayu
A resident of Karangwangi Village, Karangwareng District, Cirebon Regency, was found dead. The victim, identified as 48-year-old Tati Rohati, died after being struck by the Manahan train on railway line KM 182 in Sleman Village, Sliyeg District, Indramayu Regency, West Java.
The tragic incident was initially reported by the Manahan train conductor, operating between Solo and Bekasi, on Thursday, 28 May 2026. The conductor informed station security personnel of a person struck at KM 182 in Sleman Village. Upon receiving the report, two security officers immediately inspected the area and confirmed the presence of the victim’s body. The incident was subsequently reported to Sliyeg Police Station.
Indramayu Police Chief AKBP Mochamad Fajar Gemilang, via Sliyeg Police Chief AKP Edi Mulyana, confirmed the incident. “Upon arrival at the scene, the victim was already deceased,” Edi stated on Friday, 29 May 2026.
To manage the incident, Sliyeg Police personnel cordoned off the level crossing to facilitate evacuation. The police station also coordinated with the Forensic Team of the Indramayu Regional Police Criminal Investigation Unit.
“The victim’s body was transported to Indramayu Regional Hospital for further identification and a post-mortem examination,” he added.
To prevent recurrence, Edi urged the public to avoid activities along railway tracks, stressing the danger involved. “We advise the public to prioritise personal safety by refraining from engaging in or crossing railway tracks, as it is extremely hazardous,” he said.
