Cirebon Station Swamped with 54,000 Passengers After Long Holiday

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, CIREBON – As the Ascension of Jesus Christ long holiday draws to a close, Cirebon station is crowded with train passengers on Sunday (17/5/2026). Most of them are returning to the capital city after enjoying the four-day holiday.

The Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Daop 3 Cirebon, Muhibbuddin, said that during this long weekend holiday, they served approximately 54,000 passengers. This includes 28,239 departing passengers and 25,952 arriving passengers.

“This number comes from stations within the Daop 3 Cirebon area,” said Muhibbuddin.

Muhibbuddin added that during the long holiday period from May 13 to 18, 2026, the number of train tickets available in Daop 3 Cirebon reached 21,790. Of this total, approximately 20,100 tickets have been sold.

“So there are about ten percent left,” said Muhibbuddin.

Muhibbuddin estimates that the number of passengers will continue to increase until tonight. He said that the number of passengers departing from Daop 3 Cirebon stations is likely to reach 5,000 people by tonight.

“Today is the last day of the holiday period. Passengers are continuously arriving,” he said.
