Amid issues surrounding the dismissal of Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK), the Cirebon Regency Government is instead planning to promote part-time PPPK employees to full-time positions.

The Head of the Human Resources and Personnel Development Agency (BKPSDM) of Cirebon Regency, Ade Nugroho Yuliarno, urged PPPK employees not to be affected by the recent circulating rumours. “They will not be dismissed. In fact, we will promote part-time PPPK to full-time PPPK,” Ade stated on Sunday (5/4).

Ade explained that the policy to promote part-time PPPK to full-time would be realised gradually starting next year, while still considering the region’s financial capacity. The scheme to be used is to replace PPPK employees reaching retirement age with part-time PPPK promoted to full-time.

“We will do it gradually, replacing retiring PPPK. The number is still being calculated and adjusted to the region’s financial capacity,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Regional Finance and Assets Agency (BKAD) of Cirebon Regency, Sri Wijayawati, stated that her agency is conducting a study on the budget needs for the PPPK promotion. “We are still calculating the region’s financial capacity to determine how many part-time PPPK can be promoted,” Sri said.

Sri also revealed that the policy to promote part-time PPPK to full-time was taken to maintain workforce continuity while ensuring public services continue to run optimally. (UL/E-4)
