Cirebon Regency Government has extended its disaster preparedness status as the dry season continues across much of the area.

The disaster preparedness status in Cirebon Regency had previously been set to run until 30 September. It has now been extended until 31 October.

Juwanda, a junior disaster-management analyst at the Cirebon Regency Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), said rain had begun falling in some parts of the regency. However, rainfall remained light and had not been widespread.

“Extending the status is still necessary,” Juwanda said on Sunday (11 October 2026).

The extension also follows the policy of the West Java Provincial Government. Juwanda added that several villages were still experiencing clean-water shortages. Water supplies are continuing to be distributed to help those villages, based on requests from their local village governments.

“The extension of the preparedness status until the end of October is expected to serve as a precautionary measure if drought continues in some parts of Cirebon Regency,” Juwanda said.
