Cirebon Regency ASN WFH to Begin Next Week

The Cirebon Regency Government (Pemkab Cirebon) plans to implement work from home (WFH) for civil servants (ASN) in the near future. The ASN WFH will take place next week.

“Until now, this policy is still being finalised through a meeting scheduled for next week,” stated the Head of the Organisation Section of the Cirebon Regency Regional Secretariat, Agung Firmansyah, on Wednesday (1/4).

Agung continued that the ASN WFH will be carried out with a scheme limiting WFH to a maximum of 20 per cent of the total ASN in the Pemkab Cirebon environment.

Agung explained that this flexible working pattern can be applied with a scheme of four days working in the office and one day WFH, adjusted to the needs of each regional apparatus. The WFH implementation day, he added, is flexible and does not have to be on a specific day like Friday.

“It could be four days, possibly not Friday, it could be Tuesday or Wednesday,” Agung clarified.

However, he emphasised that structural officials are still required to attend work full-time. They include department heads or high-ranking leadership officials (JPT) and administrators. Meanwhile, supervisory officials at the level of echelon IV and functional officials are permitted to carry out WFH up to 100 per cent, while still paying attention to the supervision system.

For ASN carrying out WFH, Agung stressed that they must still perform location-based attendance as a form of control.

“Attendance is carried out at each respective location, but still within the radius of the Cirebon Regency and City areas,” he explained.

Agung gave an example that ASN residing in the Losari area can perform attendance from that location without having to come to the government centre in Sumber. However, the system will reject attendance if done outside the determined radius. “If outside the Cirebon area, attendance cannot be done. ASN must still be in the Cirebon area. Because WFH is not a holiday, they still work from home,” Agung stated.
