PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo) Regional II Cirebon says the Cirebon Port, West Java, acts as the main logistics gateway to support the distribution of industrial commodities in the West Java region up to parts of Central Java. The Branch Manager of PT Pelindo Regional II Cirebon, Hari Priyatna, said the port serves as an unloading point for various strategic commodities shipped from across Indonesia and from abroad.

“The role of Cirebon Port is that we have a pier as a connector, as the economic gateway. All commodities from Kalimantan and Sumatra dock here,” he said in Cirebon on Thursday, 21 May 2026, according to Antara.

He explained the commodities handled at the port include liquid bulk, dry bulk, general cargo, and break-bulk cargo, intended for distribution to the Cirebon Raya, Bandung Raya, and the eastern part of Central Java.

He stated that industrial demand in areas such as Purwakarta, Bandung, and Tegal is largely supported by distribution via Cirebon Port, including coal for the cement and textile sectors. “The shipments from Bandung largely originate from here. All unloading takes place here,” he said.

In today’s loading/unloading activity, the port handled corn for animal feed with a total volume of around 4,700 tonnes. Hari said the corn was transported by Kapal Langgeng and Kapal Bunga Melati 21 from Dompu Port, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), and unloaded to meet the animal-feed needs in the Cirebon region. “Bunga Melati unloaded 2,200 tonnes, Langgeng 2,500 tonnes. All from Dompu, NTB, for animal feed in the Cirebon area,” he said.

In the non-packaging sector, he continued, total throughput by commodity in April 2025 reached 3.83 million tonnes, dominated by coal at 2.67 million tonnes. Other large commodities included quartz sand 181 thousand tonnes, corn 162 thousand tonnes, palm oil 104 thousand tonnes, and palm kernel shell 101 thousand tonnes.

Meanwhile, as of April 2026, throughput realised stood at 1.35 million tonnes, up 397 thousand tonnes from the same period the previous year at 1.06 million tonnes.

Hari added that Cirebon Port is currently the main public port in West Java under Pelindo management. “In West Java, there is only one port under Pelindo, namely Cirebon Port,” he said.
