The Narcotics Unit of the Cirebon City Police has successfully uncovered the practice of distributing unauthorised pharmaceutical preparations in the Palimanan district, Cirebon Regency, West Java. During the operation, officers seized thousands of restricted prescription drug tablets that were prepared for illegal distribution.

Cirebon Police Chief, Kombes Imara Utama, revealed that the case came to light following reports from members of the public who suspected unusual activities at a rented house. Acting on these reports, officers conducted a raid on Monday (1/6).

“We immediately detained a man identified by the initials IP, aged 27, who is an entrepreneur. During the search, thousands of tablets of illegal pharmaceutical preparations were found,” said Imara on Wednesday (3/6).

All the prescription drugs were found neatly stored in black plastic bags. According to the suspect’s confession, the illegal goods belonged to him and were intended to be resold to customers without any official permit.

From preliminary investigations, the suspect, IP, admitted that he obtained the supply of these drugs from a supplier identified by the initials S. The police have identified the supplier and have placed them on the Most Wanted list (DPO).

“We are committed to continuing our investigation to break the chain of this distribution and to hunt down the main supply network,” Imara asserted.

Cirebon Police have urged the public to remain proactive in reporting any suspicious activities related to the circulation of illegal drugs in their respective environments to maintain public health and social stability.
