Cirebon Police Implement Traffic Flow Engineering During Cultural Parade
Cirebon (ANTARA) - The Cirebon City Police Resort in West Java is implementing traffic flow engineering along the heritage routes of Cirebon City during the Milangkala Tatar Sunda Cultural Parade on Sunday (10/5) evening.
Head of the Traffic Unit at Cirebon City Police Resort, AKP Hadi Suryanto, in Cirebon on Saturday, stated that the traffic engineering is being applied to anticipate heavy vehicle traffic.
He explained that the 2026 Milangkala Tatar Sunda Cultural Parade is expected to be crowded with attendees, featuring cultural arts delegations from 27 districts and cities, and passing through Cirebon City’s heritage areas.
“The event will start from the BAT Building, then proceed along Jalan Pasuketan, Jalan Pekiringan, Jalan Petratean, Jalan Pulasaren, Jalan Aryodinoto, and finish at Alun-alun Sangkala Buana Kasepuhan,” he said.
He noted that the parade route will be sterilised starting at 4:00 PM WIB, approximately two hours before the event begins.
According to him, the start and finish locations, as well as the streets traversed by participants, will be sterilised to ensure the smooth running of the cultural event.
He also urged the public to avoid the parade route streets and utilise alternative routes prepared during the traffic engineering period.
He specified that for vehicles from the Simpang Karanggetas Pekiringan intersection, traffic will be diverted via Jalan Pandesan, Jalan Kebon Cai, Jalan Parujakan, and Jalan Pekalipan.
Vehicles from Jalan Bahagia direction will be directed through Jalan Kolektoran and Jalan Kenduran, while access to the BAT area can be via Jalan Benteng and Jalan Gendunara.
“Furthermore, traffic diversion at the Simpang Petratean intersection will be through Jalan Pekalipan and Jalan Utagara, while vehicles from Aryodinoto, Lemahwungkuk, and Pegajahan directions will be routed via Jalan Pekawatan,” he said.
Hadi requested that the public obey traffic signs and follow instructions from officers on the ground during the cultural parade.
In addition to the traffic engineering, the police are preparing several parking pockets for those attending the parade.
“Parking locations near the start point are provided in front of the Cirebon Port entrance, the Cirebon Waterland or Ade Irma area, Jalan Kantor in front of Bank Mandiri, and Jalan Bahagia,” he said.
Hadi stated that the Traffic Unit of Cirebon City Police Resort is deploying 80 personnel for the event’s security, with 50 personnel stationed along the parade route and the remaining 30 conducting mobile patrols.
“The event will be officiated by the Governor of West Java, Dedi Mulyadi,” he added.
