Cirebon Police have detained three teenagers suspected of involvement in a brawl involving sharp weapons. The arrests were made after video footage of the violence went viral on social media and caused public concern within the Cirebon Police jurisdiction.

Following up on reports from residents, the TEKAB 852 Criminal Investigation Team together with the Klangenan Police Criminal Investigation Unit carried out intensive inquiries to identify the perpetrators. As a result, officers arrested three individuals with different roles: DS, 18, WA, 17, and H, 15.

Based on the investigation, DS is suspected of acting as a videographer during the brawl as well as administrator of the social media account that uploaded the footage. Meanwhile, WA and H are strongly suspected of carrying sickle-type sharp weapons during the clash.

In addition to arresting the suspects, officers also seized a number of items of evidence, including a green Honda Scoopy motorcycle used to record the incident, and three mobile phones of various brands.

The brawl is known to have occurred on Monday, 20 July 2026, at around 2.00 p.m. Western Indonesia Time. The location was on the Arjawinangun-Palimanan main road, specifically in Tegalkarang Village, Palimanan District, Cirebon Regency.

The clash involved groups of students from a vocational school in Depok District, Cirebon Regency, and a vocational school group from Plered District, Cirebon Regency. The exchange of attacks reportedly resulted in a number of people suffering injuries.

Cirebon Police Chief, Senior Commissioner Imara Utama, stressed that his force would continue to take firm action against brawls, especially those involving students and the use of sharp weapons.

“Cirebon Police will not give any room for brawls that disturb the public. Especially if sharp weapons are used, because they can endanger the safety of others and potentially cause fatalities,” Imara asserted.

He also urged students not to be easily provoked or to join groups that could potentially carry out anarchic acts. According to him, any dispute between students should be resolved through positive communication, not violence.

Furthermore, Imara called for the active role of parents and schools in tightening supervision of children’s activities to prevent criminal acts. Members of the public who are aware of potential public order disturbances or brawls are asked to report immediately via the 110 hotline or the nearest police station.
