Cirebon Integrated People's School Ready to Operate, Accommodating 540 Students from Four Regions
The Cirebon Regency Integrated People’s School is scheduled to commence operations on 31 July 2026, with a capacity for 540 students from four areas within the Ciayumajakuning region. The school’s presence is expected to expand educational access for children from families in need.
Cirebon Deputy Regent Agus Kurniawan Budiman stated that the launch of the Integrated People’s School is part of the national government’s programme to improve educational equality. The Cirebon Regency Government, he said, welcomes the school’s construction.
“Today, representing the Regent, I attended a coordination meeting regarding the People’s School. God willing, the launch will be held on 31 July,” Agus said on Friday (10/7/2026).
Agus explained that the Integrated People’s School will accommodate 540 students. A total of 270 students will come from Cirebon Regency, while the other 270 students will come from Kuningan Regency, Majalengka Regency, and Cirebon City.
According to Agus, the school’s presence is expected to provide broader educational opportunities for the community. “Hopefully this will be beneficial because education is the right of all citizens,” he said.
Cirebon Regency People’s School PIC Suratna said that operational preparations are being accelerated so that all facilities are ready for use before the inauguration. Schedule adjustments were made because the school’s physical construction is still in the completion stage.
“Initially, it was planned for 13 July. It is not a delay, but rather an adjustment to construction readiness. We cannot force it as it would be unsafe for the children,” Suratna said.
He explained that the school environment introduction period is scheduled to begin on 21 July, while the handover of students by parents to the school will take place on 30 July.
Suratna said that aside from building completion, other preparations have proceeded according to plan. Coordination with relevant ministries and agencies has been carried out, while the teacher selection process is still ongoing through a national selection mechanism.
“Everything else is ready. Only the building needs to be completed. Teachers are also in the national selection process,” he said.
Regarding student admissions, Suratna said the government is still optimising the registration process to meet the quota of 540 students. “Optimisation is currently underway to meet the student quota. There is still time and we are optimistic the quota will be fulfilled,” he said.
