The Cooperative, Small and Medium Enterprises, Trade, and Industry Office (DKUKMPP) of Cirebon City, West Java, stated that eight regions that are members of the Kunci Bersama forum have displayed their flagship products at the Cirebon City SME Mall. “The eight regions include Cirebon City, Cirebon Regency, Kuningan, Majalengka, Indramayu, Ciamis, Banjar, and Pangandaran,” said Acting Head of DKUKMPP Cirebon City Elmi Masruroh in Cirebon on Wednesday. According to her, two other member regions, namely Brebes and Cilacap, are still in the coordination process so that their flagship products can also be promoted through the Cirebon City SME Mall. Elmi explained that the Kunci Bersama SME Mall programme is designed as a shared showcase to introduce the flagship products of each member region of the Kunci Bersama forum to the public. She noted that the products currently on display are dominated by regional speciality processed foods, including coffee from Kuningan Regency which is already available in the SME Mall showcase. She conveyed that the concept applied is not as a goods distribution centre, but rather as a promotional facility, so that SME operators are not burdened with the obligation to provide large quantities of stock. The products displayed only serve as samples or displays, while large-volume transactions will be conducted directly between buyers and the business operators or the local government of the product’s origin. “This concept is more effective for expanding the marketing access of SMEs while reducing the burden of distribution and storage of goods for business operators,” she said. Apart from being a promotional medium, the programme is also expected to open up business cooperation opportunities between regions, expand marketing networks, and increase the competitiveness of local products. Elmi added that the capacity of the Cirebon City SME Mall is still adequate to accommodate the flagship products of all member regions of the Kunci Bersama forum. “Based on DKUKMPP Cirebon data, more than 5,000 SME operators have registered, although not all of them have utilised the SME Mall as a promotional and marketing facility,” she said.
