Cirebon Deputy Regent Encourages MSMEs to Scale Up Through Coaching and Business Modernisation

The Deputy Regent of Cirebon, Agus Kurniawan Budiman, is encouraging micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) players in Cirebon Regency to continue growing and adapting to more modern business patterns. This was conveyed during his attendance at the Halal Bihalal event for the Sampoerna Retail Community (SRC) association in Cirebon recently. The event was attended by approximately 150 representatives from SRC member stores from three associations within the Cirebon Regency area.

In his speech, Agus assessed that coaching for MSME actors is essential to increase the competitiveness of small businesses amidst changing trade patterns and technological developments. “I am very grateful to PT HM Sampoerna Tbk. for their care towards MSMEs in Cirebon Regency. It was reported that there are approximately 2,000 MSMEs. This is an extraordinary figure. As mentioned by the SRC, this can become a standard for MSMEs that have successfully scaled up and modernised in Cirebon,” Agus stated in a briefing on Monday (18/5/202<0xA0>6).

He also expressed his appreciation for the existence of business mentoring programmes, which are deemed capable of helping MSME entrepreneurs improve their business management. Furthermore, Agus extended his congratulations on the 18th anniversary of the SRC, expressing hope that the retail network will continue to impact the community and the regional economy. “Once again, happy 18th anniversary to the SRC. May it continue to provide benefits for the development of Cirebon, both for the economy and the wider community,” he said.

The Halal Bihalal event served as a gathering for association members and included an agenda for capacity building for business actors.
