Cirebon City Government Proposes Additional Civil Servant Recruitment Amid Mass Retirements

The Cirebon City Personnel and Human Resources Development Agency (BKPSDM) has proposed the addition of state civil apparatus (ASN) to the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB). Based on information gathered, BKPSDM Cirebon City has proposed an additional 105 civil servants (PNS) and 56 government employees with work agreements (PPPK) this year. “This number was submitted based on requests from each regional apparatus within the Cirebon City Government,” said Head of BKPSDM Cirebon City, Suwarso Budi Winarno, on Friday (12/6). Budi explained that the proposal was prompted by the retirement of hundreds of employees from the Cirebon City Government in 2026. The highest number of retirements is in the education and health service formations. “Therefore, the proposed formations consist of health workers, education workers, and other technical personnel.” However, Budi noted that the submission is merely a proposal. “We do not yet know whether it will be approved; what is certain is that the Cirebon City Government needs additional human resources,” he said. According to information from the Ministry of PANRB, the proposal for additional employees will be processed after the selection of managers for village cooperatives (Kopdes) is completed, as Kopdes is a priority programme of the central government. “If approved, the CPNS and PPPK openings will be available to the public. We encourage existing employees within the Cirebon City Government who wish to advance to a higher level to apply,” Budi stated. He also confirmed that the status of full-time and part-time PPPK will not be eliminated and urged them to make good use of this opportunity. Meanwhile, data from BKDSM Cirebon City shows there are currently 3,568 PNS and 2,018 PPPK within the city government, with PPPK teachers forming the largest group, followed by PPPK health workers.
