The Cirebon City Government (Pemkot) has no plans to implement work from home (WFH). They are still awaiting implementation guidelines (juklak) and technical guidelines (juknis) from the central government.

Cirebon Mayor Effendi Edo explained that they have no plans to apply WFH for civil servants (ASN) within the Pemkot Cirebon environment. “Pemkot Cirebon is currently not implementing a WFH policy for employees or ASN. This applies to the Secretariat, work units (SKPD), and down to the sub-district level,” said Edo on Sunday (29/3).

Edo explained that they will first conduct a study on the effectiveness and efficiency if WFH is implemented. “We are also still waiting for official regulations, including juklak and juknis for this WFH policy, from both the central government and the province,” said Edo.

Furthermore, Edo continued, each regional work unit (SKPD) has different work characteristics. “Most SKPDs provide services to the public. Only a few agencies or SKPDs could potentially implement WFH, such as the BKPSDM,” said Edo. In addition, WFH limited to ten percent, according to Edo, would not be effective. If implemented, ideally WFH should be fifty percent. “We await regulations from the centre regarding the technical guidelines and implementation,” said Edo.

According to Edo, Pemkot Cirebon has already carried out several efficiencies for savings, both in energy and regional budget.

Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister (Menko) Airlangga Hartarto revealed that the work-from-home (WFH) policy for civil servants (ASN) and private workers will be set in March 2026. However, Airlangga has not officially announced when the implementation of WFH for one day per week will officially take effect.

The work-from-home (WFH) policy for one day per week is seen as a quick response step by the government to curb the impact of global geopolitical turmoil, particularly the Middle East conflict.

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung emphasised that his side will fully follow the central government’s policy on implementing work from home (WFH) for ASN.

He stressed that the policy poses no obstacle for the DKI Provincial Government. According to him, Jakarta has bureaucratic readiness.

Airlangga stated that the determination of the policy will be carried out within the remaining time this month.

The South Tangerang City Government (Pemkot Tangsel) also refers to the Circular from the Minister of PANRB as legitimate discretion to regulate the national workload after the long holiday.
