Cirebon City becomes largest QRIS transaction contributor in Ciayumajakuning

The Bank Indonesia (BI) Cirebon Representative Office in West Java has stated that Cirebon City is the area with the largest contribution to transactions using the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) in the Cirebon, Indramayu, Majalengka, and Kuningan (Ciayumajakuning) region. Head of BI Cirebon Representative Office Wihujeng Ayu Rengganis said in a statement in Cirebon on Thursday that QRIS transaction share from Cirebon City reached 54.14 percent of the total transaction volume in the area during January to February 2026. According to her, this achievement was supported by high economic activity, especially in the trade and services sector, as well as the increasingly widespread use of digital technology in business activities and public transactions. ‘Cirebon City has quite high economic activity and is supported by a digital ecosystem that is developing faster compared to surrounding areas,’ she said. During the first two months of 2026, she noted, the value of QRIS transactions in Ciayumajakuning was recorded at Rp3.58 trillion with a total of 41.88 million transactions. She assessed this trend as indicating that digital payments have become part of the economic activity of the public and business actors. ‘The use of QRIS continues to grow and is now increasingly chosen as a means of payment in various types of transactions,’ she stated.
