Ciputra University (UC) has officially expanded its entrepreneurship-based education reach by inaugurating the leadership of Ciputra University Jakarta (UC Jakarta) in Rawa Buaya, West Jakarta, on Saturday. This strategic move marks the official operation of the campus in September 2026, in response to changes in the world of work and the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI).

“Ciputra University Jakarta was built by bringing the experience and foundation that Ciputra University has developed over more than two decades. Its presence in Jakarta provides an opportunity for UC to expand its network, collaboration, and student learning experiences through proximity to industry and professional circles,” said UC Rector Professor Wirawan ED Radianto in a statement in Jakarta on Saturday.

According to him, Ciputra University’s more than 20 years of experience in Surabaya, East Java, serves as the main foundation for the expansion into the capital. Wirawan explained that technological developments are driving changes in the competencies required of university graduates. Therefore, UC Jakarta is integrating the use of generative artificial intelligence (generative AI) into the learning process. The technology is directed as a means of exploring ideas, developing alternatives, and increasing productivity critically and responsibly.

The strengthening of the campus organisational structure was marked by the appointment of Professor Christina Eviutami Mediastika as the first female Campus Director at UC Jakarta, alongside Winarto Poernomo as Vice Campus Director for Operational Affairs. Christina is an academic and professor in the field of architectural acoustics with research experience in 56 countries and serves as an assessor for the international accreditation bodies FIBAA and ACQUIN.

Ciputra Group Board Director and Secretary of the Ciputra Education Foundation, Denny Bernardus, affirmed that the appointment of the new leadership aims to strengthen a culture of innovation relevant to the needs of the Jakarta ecosystem. “We want UC Jakarta to grow with strong academic standards and an entrepreneurial culture, while being able to respond to the character and needs of the Jakarta ecosystem,” said Denny.

UC Jakarta Campus Director Christina Eviutami Mediastika explained that entrepreneurship is understood as a mindset for seeing opportunities, creating solutions, and delivering broad impact. “In Jakarta, we want students to have a wider space to interact with the professional world, try out ideas, collaborate, and learn from various real-world problems,” said Christina.

Located in the Ciputra International area, UC Jakarta occupies a 16-storey twin tower building with a capacity of up to 10,000 students. The campus is equipped with facilities such as thematic learning pods, a Limbo Photo Studio Lab, an Integrated Kitchen and Restaurant Lab, and a face recognition gate security system.

In its inaugural academic year, UC Jakarta is also embracing 12 young talents from the creative and entertainment industries, such as actor Adnanda Sj Immanuel Londok, content creator Angelina Josie Croise, and musician Emiliano Fernando Cortizo, through a multiple intelligence scholarship pathway. This scholarship programme recognises the non-academic potential of students to be developed into sustainable business capacity.
