Ciputat Residents Spooked by Pocong Busker Late at Night

Residents of Ciputat Timur, South Tangerang, were startled by a busker dressed as a pocong. The figure was seen late at night, prompting surprise among onlookers.

The pocong is said to have been seen on Jalan Haji Gadung Raya, Pondok Ranji, Tangsel. One resident, Boim (45), said he saw them around midnight, around 11:30 p.m. There were two pocong walking from Jalan Haji Gadung Raya toward Jalan Elpiji Raya. ‘I was surprised to see them; it turned out to be a busker, not a real pocong,’ Boim said.

The performer carried equipment such as a kecrek and a loudspeaker. Boim said they did not appear suspicious and resembled ordinary buskers. ‘They carried something—what’s it called?—like a small stage or booth with music,’ he added.

Another resident, Wawan (43), said most people in the area were unaware of the pocong’s presence and only learned of it from news reports. He said he had not seen the pocong in person, despite often going out at night. ‘Not seen in person yet; I only know about it from the news,’ he said.
