Cipulir fire still a mystery
Police were still at loss over the cause of fire which gutted the Cipulir Plaza in South Jakarta Monday.
Lt. Col. Latief Rabar, a spokesman for City Police, said yesterday that the team from the national police headquarter's criminal laboratory was scheduled to begin examining the location today in order to find the exact cause of the fire.
The fire, which gutted the five-story building for more than ten hours, had reportedly inflicted Rp 30 billion (US$13 million) in financial losses to the PT Bangunmustika Intipersada, the owner of the premises. No casualties were reported in the blaze.
Earlier reports said that the fire started from a food bazaar owned by Matahari Department Store group on the second floor. (jsk)
