Cipta Karya Prepares Community-Based Infrastructure in 3,246 Locations

The Directorate General of Cipta Karya at the Ministry of Public Works is preparing community-based infrastructure activities in 3,246 locations for 2027. Acting Director General of Cipta Karya Chandra Rudi Parulian Situmorang stated that the implementation plan for the 2027 community-based infrastructure activities has been prepared with an allocation of Rp1.7 trillion, matching the 2026 budget. “These community-based infrastructure activities will be carried out in 3,246 locations and are targeted to absorb around 48,000 workers,” Chandra said during a Hearing Meeting with Commission V of the Indonesian House of Representatives in Jakarta on Monday. The activities include community-based water supply provision, known as Pamsimas, in 906 locations. Furthermore, community-based sanitation activities, or Sanimas, will be conducted in 823 locations, alongside sanitation support for religious educational institutions in 653 locations. The programme also includes reduce, reuse, recycle waste management activities at 56 locations and Regional Social and Economic Infrastructure Development activities in 808 locations. Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo stated that the ministry is strengthening community-based infrastructure development to support programmes that directly address the needs of the people. The ministry has allocated a budget of Rp1.65 trillion for community-based infrastructure development across various regions in 2027. The programme is considered a strategic investment that provides tangible benefits to the community. The various programmes not only improve the quality of basic infrastructure but also encourage local economic growth. For instance, the Pamsimas programme helps provide access to clean water in villages, while Sanimas and TPS3R support environmental health through sanitation services and waste management.
