Cipondoh Lake Tourist Spot Increasingly Deserted, Facilities Damaged and Vendors Pack Up
TANGERANG, KOMPAS.com - The Cipondoh Lake tourist spot in Tangerang City is becoming increasingly deserted due to damaged facilities. Based on observations by Kompas.com at the location, all the bamboo structures standing along the edge of Cipondoh Lake are almost entirely damaged and unfit for use. This is because the bamboo has long been rotten, as it is installed from the lakebed and frequently submerged by floods. In addition, several stalls previously used by vendors appear empty and neglected. Some of them have even collapsed, leaving behind tilted and nearly crumbling bamboo frames. The wood and bamboo, which are the main building materials, appear blackened and brittle due to constant exposure to water and weather. Along the route leading to the area, the road, which is about one and a half metres wide, also looks damaged and potholed. Moreover, access is narrow and can only be traversed by two-wheeled vehicles. During rain, parts of the access often become waterlogged, making it difficult for visitors to enter the area. No tourist activities are visible at the location, unlike several years ago. The area, once crowded with visitors, is now only occasionally visited by locals intending to fish. Meanwhile, water attractions such as pedal boats are no longer operating there. All the pedal boat facilities are simply left parked in a corner of the lake, with their condition appearing damaged and faded.
