The head of Class I Cipinang Prison, Wachid Wibowo, has reaffirmed his firm and uncompromising commitment to eradicating drugs, illegal mobile phones, and various forms of violations within the correctional environment.

This commitment was further demonstrated through Cipinang Prison’s swift response in supporting the investigation into the alleged distribution of etomidate vapes, uncovered by the National Police’s Criminal Investigation Unit (Bareskrim) at an entertainment venue in the Tanjung Duren Selatan area, Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta, on Friday, 6 May 2026.

In the development of this case, law enforcement officers investigated the alleged involvement of an inmate from Cipinang Prison.

In response to this information, the Cipinang Prison authorities immediately coordinated intensively with the Bareskrim and strengthened internal security to ensure that stability and order were maintained.

As a concrete step, the Cipinang Prison security team conducted a thorough search and inspection of the inmates’ living quarters. Wachid directly led the raid, which took place on Thursday, 14 May 2026.

During the inspection, officers seized communication devices suspected of being related to the case, which were then handed over to the police for further investigation.

In addition, the inmate suspected of being directly involved was placed in a restorative block for security, supervision, and further investigation as a precautionary measure and to control the internal situation.

In a statement, Wachid affirmed that his office fully supports the law enforcement process and will not tolerate any form of deviation.

“We immediately took swift action by coordinating and working together with the Bareskrim to support the investigation of this case. The process is currently still being developed by the Bareskrim. We are conducting internal security, raids, and control measures as a form of seriousness in maintaining security and the integrity of the correctional system,” said Wachid.

He added that the commitment to Zero Tolerance for Violations (Zero HALINAR) is being strengthened through layered supervision, early detection, routine raids, and strict action against every violation.

“There is no tolerance for drugs, illegal mobile phones, or other forms of deviation. If, in the process of investigation, it is found that there is involvement of other parties, including officers, we will take strict action in accordance with applicable laws and regulations,” he continued.
