Korlantas Polri Chief Irjen Pol Agus Suryonugroho stated that traffic flow on the Cikopo-Palimanan (Cipali) toll road section is being closely monitored and is running smoothly after the application of a one-way traffic engineering scheme. This measure was taken to alleviate congestion for vehicles heading towards Jakarta. According to Agus, the gradual implementation of the one-way system has proven effective in managing on-site vehicle volumes. “The current traffic conditions on Cipali are already very smooth because we have opened the one-way in precise segments for the first and second phases, and it is currently well managed,” Agus said, quoted from Antara on Friday (27/3). For information, on this Friday, the police implemented the first phase of the Presisi one-way from KM 132 of the Cipali toll to KM 70 of the main Cikampek toll. Meanwhile, the second phase was applied from KM 263 of the Pejagan toll through to KM 70. Agus explained that his side continues to conduct tight monitoring through traffic counting to determine the next steps, including the possibility of extending the engineering until the following day. “Tomorrow, we will evaluate again whether the return flow one-way will be extended or perhaps pulled back to KM 414. Of course, based on analysis from traffic counting that we always coordinate with the Director of Jasa Marga,” he said. In addition to the one-way, Korlantas Polri also implemented a contraflow scheme from KM 70 to KM 55 to anticipate the increase in vehicle volume that usually peaks in the afternoon to evening. “Usually, departures from Trans Java towards Jakarta surge in the afternoon to evening,” added the two-star police general. If there is a significant surge, Agus assured coordination with Jasa Marga to add contraflow lanes for the comfort of road users.
