Cipali Toll Road Implements One-Way System, Drivers Prohibited from Changing Lanes
The operator of the Cikopo–Palimanan (Cipali) toll road has implemented a one-way traffic engineering system and urged all road users not to change lanes or use U-turns while the policy is in effect. This measure is intended to maintain smooth vehicle flow and enhance safety during periods of increased traffic volume. “If you need to change lanes, please exit through the nearest toll gate and continue your journey by re-entering the desired lane without incurring additional toll fees,” stated Ardam Rafif Trisilo, Head of Sustainability Management & Corporate Communications at Astra Tol Cipali, in a statement on Sunday (29/3/2026). Additionally, road users are asked to ensure their vehicles and the physical condition of drivers are in optimal state before undertaking long journeys. He reminded drivers not to force themselves to drive when feeling tired or drowsy to avoid the risk of accidents on the toll road. Ardam added that the company has prepared various 24-hour operational services to support traffic flow. These services include 10 patrol units, 12 main tow trucks plus 7 additional tow trucks, 6 rescue units, and 5 ambulances. “We are doing this to support the smooth operation and safety of road users,” said Ardam. Meanwhile, the volume of vehicles passing through the Cipali toll road has shown a significant increase. From 00:00 WIB to 15:00 WIB, approximately 46,000 vehicles were recorded heading towards Jakarta. This figure represents an increase of about 10% compared to the same period on the previous day. The increase in traffic flow is also evident from the average number of vehicles per hour. From 00:00 to 12:00 WIB, around 3,000 vehicles passed every hour. Meanwhile, from 12:00 to 15:00 WIB, the number of vehicles rose to about 3,500 per hour.
