Subang (ANTARA) - The operator of the Cikopo-Palimanan (Cipali) toll road stated that there are eight rest areas available for road users on the Cipali toll route during the Eid al-Fitr homecoming and return season. The Head of Sustainability Management & Corporate Communications Department of Astra Tol Cipali, in a statement received in Subang, West Java, on Monday, urged road users to rest at the nearest rest area if they feel tired or drowsy. Several rest areas are available on the Cipali toll route, namely at KM 86, KM 102, KM 130A, and KM 166 towards Cirebon. Then, rest areas at KM 164, KM 130B, KM 101, and a functional rest area at KM 77 towards Jakarta. If the rest area capacity is full, road users can utilise rest spots outside the nearest toll gate. This is because, with the closed transaction system, the toll fare remains the same even if road users exit and re-enter the toll road. This was conveyed to prevent road users from stopping on the toll road shoulder to rest, which could disrupt traffic flow on the Cipali toll route. During this year’s Eid al-Fitr homecoming and return season, road users are also urged to ensure the condition of their vehicles and the physical state of the drivers are in prime condition, and not to push themselves if feeling drowsy. On H+2 of Eid or this Monday, traffic flow on the Cipali toll route towards Cirebon is observed to be easing, while the flow towards Jakarta is increasing with busy but smooth conditions. Based on data from 00.00 WIB to 09.00 WIB, around 12,000 vehicles passed through the Cipali toll route from Cikopo towards Cirebon. This traffic volume is 36.3 percent lower compared to the same period the previous day. In the opposite direction, around 13,000 vehicles passed through Cikopo towards Jakarta, significantly increasing by 161.5 percent compared to the same period yesterday. Overall, the traffic volume on the Cipali toll route increased by around 4.2 percent compared to the same period yesterday.
