Cimin Vendor Detained for Allegedly Molesting Seven Girls in Cirebon
The Cirebon City Police in West Java have detained a cimin (aci mini) vendor, identified by the initials US (45), who is suspected of committing indecent acts against at least seven girls aged between six and nine.
Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cirebon City Police, AKP M Fadlillah, said on Tuesday that the case came to light after the parent of one of the victims became suspicious of US’s behaviour while he was selling cimin in the Cirebon City area.
“His modus operandi was to offer to weigh the child’s body. The act was then carried out,” he said.
Fadlillah said one of the alleged incidents occurred on 17 August 2026 at around 8 p.m. local time, when a child bought food sold by the suspect.
According to him, US allegedly approached the child under the pretext of weighing her body when the surrounding area was relatively quiet.
The parent’s suspicion then prompted inquiries with several other parents, leading to information about similar alleged incidents.
“We then recorded a number of children who are suspected of having experienced similar acts when buying cimin from the suspect,” he said.
Fadlillah said another alleged incident occurred on 18 August 2026, involving a different girl.
Based on the preliminary investigation, police have identified at least seven victims, all of whom are girls aged between six and nine.
Police have also seized a number of items of evidence, including children’s clothing related to the case.
Fadlillah said US has been named a suspect and detained to undergo further legal proceedings.
Police have charged the suspect under Article 415 letter b and Article 417 of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code (KUHP).
According to police, the suspect faces a maximum prison sentence of nine years.
The Cirebon City Police are still open to the possibility of additional victims and are urging members of the public who know of or have experienced similar alleged incidents to report immediately to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cirebon City Police or through the police hotline 110.
