Cimanggis Police Station Member Testifies in Trial of Bekasi Regent Ade Kuswara's Corruption Case
JAKARTA - A member of Cimanggis Police Station, Aiptu Yayat Suderajat, appeared as a witness in the trial of the corruption case implicating the inactive Bekasi Regent Ade Kuswara, held at the Bandung Corruption Court on Wednesday (8/4/2026).
The Head of Public Relations of Depok Police Resort, Iptu Made Budi, stated that Yayat’s testimony is suspected to be related to his involvement in the case.
“Yes, that’s correct; the individual was called as a witness related to that case,” said Made when confirmed by Kompas.com on Wednesday (22/4/2026).
“Currently, he is registered as a member of Cimanggis Police Station. There is no information regarding this (resignation),” Made added.
Quoted from Wartakota Bekasi, Yayat’s name emerged after the Head of the Water Resources, Public Works, and Construction Agency of Bekasi Regency, Henry Lincoln, was also examined as a witness.
In his statement, Henry admitted to knowing the defendant Sarjan through Yayat when meeting Bekasi official Dani Ramdan.
Yayat is also said to have received benefits from several local government projects during Ade Kuswara’s leadership in Bekasi Regency.
The Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Asep Guntur Rahayu, stated that this bribery case began when Ade Kuswara communicated with Sarjan, a private party providing project packages in the Bekasi Regency government environment.
From that communication, over the past year, Regent Ade routinely requested advances for project packages from Sarjan through the intermediary HM Kunang.
“The total advances given by Sarjan to Regent Ade, together with HM Kunang, amounted to Rp 9.5 billion. The money was handed over in four instances through various intermediaries,” said Asep during a press conference on Saturday.
In addition to those fund flows, throughout 2025, Regent Ade is also suspected of receiving other payments from several parties, totalling Rp 4.7 billion.
Thus, the total money received by Regent Ade amounts to Rp 14.2 billion.
Meanwhile, Sarjan, as the giver, is charged under Article 5 paragraph (1) letter a or b or Article 13 of the Corruption Eradication Law.
