Cimanggis bomb case files go to court

Depok prosecutors submitted on Thursday case files on nine Cimanggis bomb suspects to the Cibinong District Court.

"We are now waiting for the court to set the trial date," the head of the criminal cases division at the prosecutor's office, Tony Spontano, said.

The nine suspects are charged with storing and assembling bombs in a house on Jl. Bakti ABRI in Sukamaju Baru subdistrict, Cimanggis, Depok municipality. The bombs exploded prematurely in the house on March 21.

The first case file is on Oman Abdurahman, 32, who is being charged under Law No. 15/2003 on terrorism and the 1951 Emergency Law, for possessing and storing explosives.

Prosecutors prepared one case file on Syarif Hidayat, 32, Kamaludin, 23, and Septiono Kardiono Widianto, alias Amar, 22.

All three are being charged under articles 9 and 15 of the terrorism law for procuring explosives to be used in a terrorist attack, and assisting in a planned terrorist attack.

The third file is on Samin, alias Apip, 28. He is being charged for involvement in a planned terrorist action.

Inggrid Wahyucahyaningsih, 21, is being charged under articles 15 and 13 of the terrorism law, for withholding information about a planned terrorist attack.

The last file case is on Agus Kusdianto, 27, Mohamad Ferdiansyah, 26, and Hadi Suandana. Prosecutors have charged all three under article 15 of the terrorism law.

Each of the articles carries a maximum penalty of death.

Police have named three other suspects in the case. The three, identified as H, As and R, are still at large.
