Cimahi Traffic Police report surge in tourist traffic in Lembang area
Bandung Barat (ANTARA) – The Cimahi Traffic Police recorded a significant increase in tourist vehicle volumes heading to the Lembang and Cisarua areas in Bandung Barat Regency on Sunday, coinciding with the long weekend holiday.
Cimahi Traffic Police Chief AKP Aviandre Maliki said congestion occurred on several main roads leading to tourist areas, including Colonel Masturi Road, Lembang Main Road, and Tangkuban Parahu Main Road.
“Today saw a significant increase in vehicle volumes compared to yesterday, both from Lembang to Bandung, but more vehicles were moving from upper to lower areas,” he said in Lembang, Bandung Barat, on Sunday.
Personnel have been deployed to several high-congestion points, supported by mobile units to help clear traffic queues on the ground.
“Approximately 80 personnel from Cimahi Traffic Police are managing and dispersing congestion. We have stationed officers at various points and have mobile units,” he said.
In addition to traffic management, they also handled a traffic accident in Parongpong, Bandung Barat Regency.
Aviandre said a bus had fallen into a drainage channel, and officers were deployed to inspect and process the accident scene.
Meanwhile, Cimahi Traffic Police Law Enforcement Unit Chief Ipda Nikmat Nugraha Hidayatullah said tourist vehicle congestion was observed at various tourist spots in Lembang from afternoon until evening.
“We are on standby at congestion points. Alhamdulillah, traffic is still flowing and we have implemented situational one-way traffic measures,” Nikmat said.
He said congestion occurred along Colonel Masturi Road in Cisarua, around Lembang Park & Zoo, Grafika Cikole Tourism Terminal, the entrance to Tangkuban Parahu Mountain tourist site, and Tugu Lembang area.
Cimahi Traffic Police urged tourists to follow officers’ instructions and check their vehicle conditions to ensure smooth and safe travel to Bandung Barat’s tourist areas.
