Cimahi Grand Mosque to Hold Inaugural Inclusive Eid Prayer with Sign Language Sermon
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, CIMAHI – Deputy Mayor of Cimahi, Adhitia Yudisthdiaa, stated that as a form of the government’s concern for people with disabilities, the Eid al-Fitr prayer sermon at the Grand Mosque of Cimahi on Saturday (21/3/2026) will involve a sign language interpreter. Consequently, hearing-impaired attendees will not merely sit and follow the prayer but will fully participate. “And tomorrow at the Grand Mosque of Cimahi, we are organising the first inclusive Eid al-Fitr prayer, with a sign language interpreter present. So the sermon will be translated into sign language for our friends with disabilities,” said Adhitia. Adhitia mentioned that thousands of people are expected to attend the Eid al-Fitr prayer in the Cimahi town square area. As in previous years, starting from 06:00 WIB, worshippers usually begin to arrive. “Alhamdulillah, today there are also our brothers from Muhammadiyah performing Eid al-Fitr prayer. Let us respond to this with mutual respect and honour for our differences regarding the determination of Eid al-Fitr,” said Adhitia. Joint personnel carried out cleaning in the Cimahi town square area, West Java, on Friday (20/3/2026). The city centre of Cimahi was filled with scattered rubbish after being used for the full-month Ramadan Expo activities. Personnel swept the road surface from andesite stones in the Cimahi town square area. Others worked together to clean up the scattered rubbish left behind after the Ramadan bazaar. As a result, the Cimahi town square area became cleaner ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah. “So there is a lot of leftover rubbish from the Ramadan bazaar here. Today we are cleaning it because tomorrow it will be used as the location for Eid al-Fitr prayer,” said Adhitia Yudisthdia. The road surface was swept because it was dirty from oil spills. Not to mention the remnants of food and their wrappers that were thrown away carelessly. If not, the attached dirt would damage the aesthetics. “We are welcoming this fitri day as best as possible, we are cleaning up, so that everything is clean and comfortable. It’s already clean and clear, ready to be used tomorrow,” said Adhitia.
