CIMAHI — Cimahi Deputy Mayor Adhitia Yudisthira has assured that energy supplies, including Bahan Bakar Minyak (BBM), remain secure amid escalating tensions in the Middle East between the United States–Israel and Iran. He urged Cimahi residents not to panic or engage in panic buying over fuel availability. This assurance came after the Cimahi city government, through its Assistant for Economy and Development and the Department of Trade, Cooperatives, SMEs and Industry (Disdagkoperind), communicated with relevant parties, particularly PT Pertamina. ‘For Cimahi residents, there is no need to panic, let alone panic buying, because BBM stock in Cimahi is not in shortage,’ Adhitia said in a confirmed statement on Friday (6/3/2026). According to Adhitia, the Middle East escalation is not expected to impact BBM supply in Cimahi. Nevertheless, he instructed government agencies (OPD) to maintain ongoing dialogue with energy providers. ‘Yes, we will keep coordinating regarding BBM. So, God willing, the Middle East escalation does not seem to affect stocks of BBM, LPG or other energy sources,’ he added. The Cimahi city government will also monitor BBM availability, including in the run-up to the 2026 Eid al-Fitr mudik season. Not only stock, but also monitoring of fuel quantity will be a focus by the Meteorology Unit (UPTD Meteorologi) within Disdagkoperind Kota Cimahi. ‘Yes, I have instructed the relevant OPDs, especially Disdagkoperind, to monitor and coordinate with energy sector players, including gas stations,’ Adhitia said.
