Cimahi City Government Sets WFH Proportion for Civil Servants at 75% Every Friday
The City Government of Cimahi, West Java, has established a maximum proportion of 75% civil servants (ASN) working from home (WFH) and 25% working from the office (WFO) every Friday as part of the implementation of a flexible work system policy. This policy also serves as a follow-up to central government directives regarding the application of a more flexible ASN work system. Cimahi Mayor Ngatiyana in Cimahi on Thursday stated that the proportion arrangement is adjusted by each regional apparatus according to the needs of public services. “The proportion is 75% and 25%. Public services must continue to run optimally. WFH must not reduce the quality of services,” he said. He explained that this policy is part of the transformation of work culture in the local government environment to be more adaptive, efficient, and technology-based. “This transformation aims to encourage output-based work patterns and improve resource efficiency,” he stated. However, the WFH policy does not apply to high-ranking leadership positions (echelon II), administrative positions (echelon III), as well as sub-district heads and village heads, who are still required to be present at the office to maintain coordination functions and decision-making. Meanwhile, several public service units such as regional hospitals, community health centres, Civil Service Police Unit and Fire Department, Regional Disaster Management Agency, Population and Civil Registration Service, up to the Public Service Mall continue to provide direct services. The authority also stated that it will continue to conduct periodic evaluations to ensure this policy runs effectively and provides benefits.
