Cimahi City Government Allocates Rp36 Billion to Acquire Land for Gatot Subroto Road Underpass Construction

CIMAHI – The Cimahi City Government has disbursed a budget of Rp36 billion to acquire land in support of the construction of an underpass on Jalan Gatot Subroto. The construction itself will be carried out by the West Java Provincial Government.

Cimahi Mayor Ngatiyana stated that, based on an agreement with the West Java Provincial Government, his administration is responsible for acquiring 3,000 square metres of land along Jalan Gatot Subroto up to Jalan Baros, crossing the railway level crossing.

“Cimahi is responsible for land acquisition in the vicinity of the underpass site only. So, the affected land is around 3,000 square metres, including properties owned by the TNI, the post office, PT Telkom’s office, and Kodiklat Mess, all allocated for that amount,” Ngatiyana explained when contacted on Monday (20/4/2026).

Meanwhile, the construction of the underpass will be the responsibility of the West Java Provincial Government. However, based on information received by the Cimahi City Government, it is currently awaiting the tender process.

“Now we are waiting for the tender, because the construction will be done by the province. We are only handling the land acquisition; hopefully, physical work can start in May or June,” Ngatiyana said.

During the construction of the Gatot Subroto underpass, traffic flow engineering will be implemented. The traffic management scheme has been prepared by the police and the Cimahi City Transportation Department (Dishub).

“We have prepared everything, maintaining communication with Kodam, the West Java Province, and even AD Headquarters. Hopefully, it can be implemented soon,” Ngatiyana added.
