Ciliwung Festival Invites Residents to Protect River and Preserve Betawi Culture

The 7th Ciliwung Festival was held in the Condet area of Jakarta on Saturday (25/7/2026), carrying the theme ‘From Culture We Save Nature’. The event, supported by the Dana Indonesiana, LPDP, and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, aims to increase public awareness of the preservation of the Ciliwung River while strengthening the preservation of Betawi arts and culture through various educational and cultural activities. Activities included a river tour to introduce the condition of the Ciliwung and foster environmental awareness, as well as various Betawi art and cultural performances involving local communities. The festival serves as a meeting point between nature conservation and cultural preservation, introducing local wisdom values to the younger generation.
