Cilegon Municipal Government Hosts Joint Breaking-of-Fast Gathering to Strengthen Media Relations
The Cilegon City Government, through the Department of Communication, Information Technology, Statistics and Cryptography, organised a joint breaking-of-fast gathering with journalists at the Cilegon Mayor’s official residence on Tuesday, 17 March 2026. The event formed part of efforts to strengthen synergy between the local government and media in supporting public information transparency.
The gathering, organised through the Public Communication Information Division and conducted in collaboration with PT Krakatau Posco, was attended by dozens of journalists from various media outlets in Cilegon City. The event was also attended directly by Cilegon Mayor Robinsar and Deputy Mayor Fajar Hadi Prabowo.
In his remarks, Robinsar emphasised that the breaking-of-fast gathering represented an important opportunity to strengthen familial bonds between the government and journalism professionals. He stated that these bonds held spiritual significance, whilst simultaneously strengthening harmonious working relationships.
“Today we gather for familial bonding. We seek God’s blessings, as the Hadith mentions that such bonds bring many blessings, including longevity and increased livelihood,” he said.
Robinsar also acknowledged that the intensity of government activities had limited opportunities for regular meetings with journalists. Consequently, he valued this occasion as an appropriate moment to re-establish direct communication.
“I may not have met directly with press colleagues for some time. Due to demanding schedules, gatherings like this provide an excellent opportunity to strengthen our unity,” he stated.
Furthermore, he expressed appreciation for the media’s role in communicating development information to the public. Robinsar also invited journalists to offer constructive criticism and suggestions to improve future local government performance.
“I wish to hear more suggestions from press colleagues. Please offer constructive criticism and recommendations so that we can together find the best solutions for public welfare,” he added.
Additionally, Robinsar expressed his commitment to increasing support for media collaboration through enhanced government publication budgets in the coming year.
“God willing, media budgets will continue to increase so that colleagues can work more professionally in delivering information to the community,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Agus Zulkarnain, Head of the Department of Communication, Information Technology, Statistics and Cryptography of Cilegon City, explained that the event aimed to strengthen relationships and enhance synergy between the local government, industry, and journalism professionals.
“This activity aims to strengthen familial bonds and reinforce synergy between government, industry and journalism professionals in supporting the dissemination of development information to the community,” he said.
At the same occasion, Alhadis Syamsudin, Director of Technology and Business Development at PT Krakatau Posco, also praised the collaborative relationship. He regarded synergy among government, industry, and media as an important foundation for building open communication and supporting sustainable regional development, particularly in Cilegon City.
“Synergy between government, industry, and media represents an important foundation for building open communication and supporting sustainable regional development,” he concluded.
