Cilegon Mayor Robinsar Emphasises Discipline and Improvement in Public Services
Cilegon Mayor Robinsar has emphasised the importance of improving discipline among civil servants (ASN) in the Cilegon City Government. He conveyed this during a morning assembly combined with a halal bihalal event held in the courtyard of the Mayor’s Office on Monday, 30 March 2026.
Improving discipline, Robinsar stated, is the top priority for the Cilegon City Government. He noted that there are still some civil servants, whether ASN or contract workers, who are listed as employees but never show up or perform their duties at their respective agencies.
“I have heard that there are still some ASN or contract workers whose names are recorded as employees, but they never attend and never come to their offices. Of course, this situation cannot be allowed to continue as it will impact the quality of public services,” he said.
Robinsar also asked all heads of regional agencies, sub-district heads, and village heads not to hesitate in taking firm action against undisciplined employees. In his view, employees who rarely come to work or do not provide tangible contributions should be evaluated immediately.
“Starting today, there is no need to hesitate. If there are subordinates who rarely come to the office or never work, just dismiss them. Do not let those who work hard be disadvantaged by irresponsible individuals,” he stated.
Furthermore, Robinsar reminded that the policy of restricting employee spending in 2027 is an important reason to reorganise personnel early. He stressed that evaluations must focus on unproductive employees. “We do not need to reduce employees who work well. Those who do not work are the ones who must be reduced,” he said.
In addition to discipline, Robinsar emphasised the importance of improving the quality of public services. Therefore, he urged all employees in the Cilegon City Government to provide friendly, fast services without complicating matters for the public.
“We must be able to provide the best service to the community, so if there is a member of the public handling administration, if possible, complete it that same day; do not delay it because services must serve, not complicate the public,” he said.
Robinsar also appreciated the performance of all regional agencies in supporting the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) examination process. He stated that the BPK gave a positive assessment of the increased responsiveness of regional agencies in providing data and examination documents.
“Alhamdulillah, this year the BPK has stated that Cilegon City is already better and more responsive in providing data compared to previous years. This change shows an improvement in governance in the Cilegon City Government compared to the previous year. I hope this year we can again achieve an Unqualified Opinion (WTP),” he said.
Robinsar also appreciated the TNI, Police, health workers, and all involved regional organisations in securing and serving the 2026 Eid al-Fitr homecoming flow. According to him, this year’s homecoming was deemed more conducive and smooth. “Regarding the homecoming flow, we certainly greatly appreciate all parties who have worked day and night so that this year’s homecoming can run more safely and smoothly for travellers.”
